Where's the full text?

If you are unsure whether an article is available in full text or not, please click on the 'Check for full text . . .' link closest to the citation to check if the full text is available at MSVU. Citation Indexes

Citation indexes allow you to find articles which have cited other works. You can think of it as a reference list in reverse.
  • Web of Science (WOS)  
    Rating
    A multidisciplinary index with the capability of searching an article's cited references to locate related research. Links are available to selected full-text articles.
  • Google Scholar  
      
      
    Rating
    The “Cited by” feature allows you to see details of later articles that have cited the article whose citation appear in the results list of a search

  • Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)  
    Rating
    Provides indexing, abstracting and over 4,000 full-text journal articles in many disciplines including the Biological Sciences.
  • National Research Council Journals  
    Rating
    15 full-text journals published by the Canadian National Research Council.
  • Science Direct  
    Rating
    1800 full-text multi-disciplinary journals with a strong science component.
  • Springer LINK  
    Rating
    Articles from 1,692 full-text science journals as well as access to over 1,700 titles in the Springer E-Book collection. Access to Springer E-Books is also available via the link to MyiLibrary.
  • Wiley Online Library  
    Rating
    1,229 full-text multi-disciplinary journals.
  • JSTOR  
    Rating
    A large collection of academic journals in the Arts & Sciences, the Biological Sciences (including Ecology & Botany) , and the Life Sciences. In most instances the volume run extends to the first published issue.
  • MEDLINE (EBSCO)  
    Rating
    5,200 biomedical journals are indexed/abstracted, with links to full-text articles. MEDLINE is a component of the U.S. National Library of Medicine's PubMed which is slightly broader in scope.
  • PubMed  
    Rating
    Over 15 million citations for biomedical articles going back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing freely available full text articles and other related resources.
  • PubMed Central Canada  
    Rating
    PMC Canada offers free access to full-text, peer reviewed health (including nutrition) and life sciences research publications.
  • Nature : International Weekly Journal of Science  
    Rating
    All articles published from January 2006 to those in the latest issue of the current year may be read online.
  • Agricola (EBSCO)  
    Rating
    Citations to journal articles and other publications (including books and audiovisuals) on agriculture and related topics including plant and animal science, entomology, food and nutrition.
  • Bioline International  
    Rating
    Online database that provides access to peer-reviewed journals in the Biosciences from Brazil, China, India, Iran, Nigeria, Venezuela and other countries.
  • Research Library  
    Rating
    4000 journals indexed/abstracted (2800 full-text) in various disciplines.
  • PsycInfo (EBSCO)  
    Rating
    2000 international psychology journals, books, chapters, dissertations indexed/abstracted, links to full-text in Academic Search Premier & PsychArticles.
  • GreenFILE (EBSCO)  
    Rating
    Focuses on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond.
  • PLoS ONE  
    Rating
    A large collection of open access articles in the sciences: Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Nutrition, Mental and Physical Health.
  • DOAJ : Directory of Open Access Journals  
    Rating
    A collection of articles from over 5,100 scholarly and scientific journals of which 190 are in Biology and 39 are in Biochemistry.

Collections of Publications

  • Digital Dissertations & Theses (Proquest)  
    Rating
    Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Master's theses published from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. More than 600,000 full text documents are available in PDF formats.
  • MyiLibrary  
    Rating
    Electronic books from a wide variety of disciplines with an emphasis on the humanities, social sciences, biomedicine, and life sciences.
