On December 8, 2015, the Government of Canada announced an inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. The inquiry launched on August 3, 2016 and will be completed in 2018. It will be independent of the federal government.

of missing and murdered Aboriginal women across all police jurisdictions in Canada. This report summarizes that effort."
