•Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA)
CASCA goals are to lobby funding agencies as necessary to ensure continuing financial support for anthropological research;
to commit to excellence in Canadian anthropology graduate programmes and in the teaching of undergraduate anthropology; and
to provide a platform to anthropologists practicing the discipline outside of academia.
•Canadian Association for Physical Anthropology (CAPA)
The Canadian Association of Physical Anthropology / L’Association Canadienne D’Anthropologie Physique is a learned society of international scholars and students whose aim is to promote and increase awareness and understanding of physical (biological) anthropology among its membership, as well as to supporting institutions and agencies and the public at large.
•American Anthropological Association (AAA)
formed "to promote the science of anthropology, to stimulate and coordinate the efforts of American anthropologists, to foster local and other societies devoted to anthropology, to serve as a bond among American anthropologists and anthropologic[al] organizations present and prospective, and to publish and encourage the publication of matter pertaining to anthropology"
American Association of Physical Anthropologists (AAPA)
The AAPA is the world's leading professional organization for physical anthropologists. Formed by 83 charter members in 1930, the AAPA now has an international membership of over 1,700. The Association's annual meetings draw more than a thousand scientists and students from all over the world.
The World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA)
The World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA) is a network of national and international associations that aims to promote worldwide communication and cooperation in anthropology.
Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK and Commonwealth [ASA]
The ASA was founded in 1946 to promote the study and teaching of social anthropology, to present the interests of social anthropology and to maintain its professional status. Its aim is to assist in any way possible in planning research, to collate and publish information on social anthropology and to function as a register of social anthropologists
European Association of Social Anthropologists [EASA]
EASA is a professional association open to all social anthropologists either qualified in, or else working in, Europe.
The Association seeks to advance anthropology in Europe by organizing biennial conferences and by editing its academic journal, Social Anthropology/Anthropologie Sociale.
European Anthropological Association [EAA]
The European Anthropological Association, EAA, is a scientific organisation which aims to promote research and teaching in Anthropology in the different European countries and to promote exchanges of information, workshops, scientific congresses, and schools at post graduate level. The Association has about 600 regular members from 30 European and 5 non-European countries.
