Find Newspaper Articles with Novanet Discovery

  • Begin on the Mount Saint Vincent University homepage
  • Select the library link at the top of the page

  • On the library home page you will see a search bar
  • Enter search terms and click the "Search" button
  • You will be re-directed to the Novanet home page

  • You may be prompted to sign in to Novanet
  • If not prompted, select the sign in link at the top right of the Novanet search page
  • Sign in to get complete results and to request items

  • Narrow results down to newspapers only on the left side column on the page
  • Find “Tweak My Results”
  • Scroll down to the “resource type” tab
  • Select the “Newspapers search” link
  • You will be re-directed to the newspaper search page
  • Results shown are from newspapers. There are no books or journal articles.
  • Use the drop-down menus on the left of the screen to filter by availability, creation date, subject, journal title (for the newspaper titles), and language.

  • Select a resource to make requests and to see options for access 

  • From this page users can save the permalink and citation or email and print this result by clicking the link under the “Send to” tab

  • If full-text is not available: look under the "Services" tab
  • Select the "How to get it" link

  • If available, you will see "full-text available" highlighted in green

  • For online resources, select link under “View Online”
