Why do I need a Mount ID card?

Your Mount ID card is your library card

With it, you can...

  • Borrow print books and other materials from the Mount Library collection.

  • Book student group study rooms. You must have a valid student ID card to book student group study rooms, and the card must be presented at the desk to borrow the key

  • Items that cannot be found in the Novanet Search or Article Databases can be requested using the Document Delivery service. If you are unable to sign in to the document delivery form please contact library@msvu.ca.

How do I get a Mount ID card?

Mount ID cards are issued by the Mount Library

On Campus

New Students: Your ID will be available 24 hours after you have registered for your current semester (the ID database requires a day to refresh). Please come to the library at least one day after you have registered, and library staff will take your picture and print your new ID card.

Returning Students: Stop by the Library Front Desk any time we’re open, and we’ll provide a new validation sticker for the current academic year. Stickers are usually available by August.

The replacement cost for a lost card is $10.00, payable by cash, debit, or credit at the Front Desk.

Distance Students

If you live outside of travelling distance to the MSVU campus, please request a Mount Distance ID card via the link below:

An ID card will be sent to you by mail. Please note that Distance ID cards will not have the student's picture and instead use a generic picture of the university campus.

Note: Your Mount Distance ID card can be used to borrow books from all Novanet and most Canadian university libraries.
